The End Of Another Ski Season

Another fantastic Austrian skiing season has come to an end, over the last three weeks that we spent in the Zell am See and Kaprun ski area we experienced the fast and ever changing Alpine weather. We had powdery snow cover everything in thick white blanket with cold days and even colder nights which was then replaced by spring’s great warmth and colourful flowers.

The first week we enjoyed the company of four Primary Schools, aged 10 and 11 years of age and how satisfying it was to see their confidence develop during their ski course. An experience they will all remember for a lifetime.

Next was a very loyal Comprehensive School that travel every year with us at Easter and have already re-booked for Easter 2017.

Lastly was a family group that had a wonderful time, the children were between 3 to 8 years of age, they made excellent progress with their skiing being taught by Martha and Kathi from Bruck Ski School, a family owned ski school. Martha and Kathi were born and brought up in the area and have in depth knowledge of the mountains, an absolute must when teaching in this type of enviroment. Every year we are amazed how quickly the confidence and skill comes to the young ones, the Bruck Ski School has been our preferred ski school for nearly 30 years, they are wonderful with the children, speaking excellent English and have so much patience. Ski instructors Martha and Kathi taught our son to ski many years ago and have now started teaching our young grandsons, very soon they will be better at skiing than their Dad!!

You can't ski all night!! We prepare a full evening entertainment programme which means everybody has fun when off the slopes. Apres ski activities include; swimming, bowling, tobogganing, Tyrolean evening, ski presentation and disco, Ice Hockey match, souvenir hunt and stroll around the quaint village of Zell am See. There is never a dull moment in the mountains, every year is always as much fun and we are already planning and looking forward to next years tours.

We have late availability for February Half Term 2017 and Easter 2017, although Easter is late next year we have guaranteed skiing in Zell am See with the back up of the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier in Kaprun.
