We've been reminiscing old warm summer memories now that winter has truly knocked on our door this past blustery adn colder week.

This was post pandemic summer and we had nice start with successful tours to Scotland and the Cotswolds to name a few, this was a nice warm up before we headed on our road trip adventure with our two grandsons. This trip was a long time coming after having been cancelled twice in as many years due to the global pandemic. Third time lucky and off we went.

First stop was Dover Castle, we had always wanted to go there having driven past this magnificent historical building countless of times on our many Dover- Calais crossings through the years. Dover Castle didn't fail to deliver it's centuries worth of fascinating history.

Next stop were the Normandy D-Day Beaches. Now this is a place we've been to many of times with our school groups and had been looking forward to exploring with our grandsons.

What stood out for our grandsons was driving over Pont de Normandie, checking out John Steele hanging from the tower of St. Mere Eglise, The Airbourne Museum and visiting Utah Beach.

The summer was rounded up with a lovely trip to the Isle of Wight with one of our regular groups.

The group enjoyed everything the grand Osbourne House and gardens have to offer. Overlooking Scratchell's Bay we saw the spectacular Needles where they stand tall in the waters.

The group visited The Isle of Wight Railway which is a heritage railway where they experienced over 150 years of steaming and hissing railway history.

With summer behind us and fond new and old memories in the bank e we look forward to what adventures this winter will bring. Just over a week and the ski season 2024-2025 is here!
